FAQs

Our equipment is first-come, first-served. We do not have an application process or residency restrictions. Please come by our warehouse during our regular hours, which are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and the 1st Saturday of each month from 10am-1pm. 

If you are looking for a large or specialized piece of equipment, you are welcome to call or email us to see if it’s available. 

As a volunteer-powered organization, we are unable to do deliveries or routinely offer pick ups. If transportation is an issue, you are welcome to send a caregiver to pick up equipment for you as long as they are willing to sign our waiver accepting used equipment in as-is condition. 

We are sometimes able to arrange pick ups in the immediate Vancouver area for large items like power chairs, scooters, lifts or lift chairs, and hospital beds. Please email info@acaringcloset.org with your address and what you’d like to have picked up and we will do our best to help with arrangements. 

All of our equipment is donated, so we can’t guarantee exactly what we will have at any time.

• Step 2 bed

• Hoyer & trapeze lifts
• Lift chairs
• Wheelchair transport systems for car installation
• Transfer poles
• Ice machines

We recognize that mobility or transportation challenges can make it difficult to get to our warehouse. You may send a caregiver to pick up equipment on your behalf as long as they are comfortable signing our waiver to accept the equipment in as-is condition. 

The exception here is for power chairs and scooters. We need you to come in so we can find equipment that fits you and teach you to operate it safely.

You’re absolutely welcome to keep any of our equipment for as long as you need it, whether that’s a week or forever! We appreciate folks who give their equipment a wipe down and donate it back when they’re finished with it so we can find it a new home. 

Yes, we are officially registered as a nonprofit organization. Our registration number is 81-1517903, and we are compliant with all local and international nonprofit governance standards. This means your donations are secure and, in most countries, tax-deductible.
