From My Perspective

Ava Rose, Executive Director

Starting as A Caring Closet’s first Executive Director, I knew I was joining an organization with a mission I deeply believed in. What I didn’t expect was how profoundly this community would inspire me every day.

  • This community is truly defined by caring. Every day I watch neighbors help neighbors through some of life’s most difficult moments, volunteers support strangers with warmth, and our donors give generously with no expectation of recognition. Compassion is at the heart of everything we do.
  • The need is greater than many people realize–and any of us could need A Caring Closet someday. People from all walks of life rely on us. Veterans experiencing delays getting equipment from the VA, caregivers filling the gaps between what they know their patients need and what benefits supply, and families squeezed by rising costs are just some of the folks we see at the warehouse each week.
  • Small acts create extraordinary impact. A donated wheelchair can reduce someone to tears of relief when they can access what they need to keep a loved one mobile. A three hour volunteer shift helps hundreds of families. Every financial gift, no matter how small, keeps our doors open for the next person who walks through them.

Together, we’re proving that when people care for one another it creates immediate, visible change. I can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together.
